مَیں بس کچھ دیر اپنے گھر گیا تھا
مُجھے یاروں کی صُحبت نے بچایا
میں اُس کے بعد سمجھو مر گیا تھا
ہمارے گھر گِرے ہیں ؛ پھر بھی چپ ہیں
تُمہارے گھر تو اک پتھر گیا تھا
زمیں پر سوگ برپا ہو گیا تھا
سمندر مَیتَّوں سے بھر گیا تھا
میں گزرا خواب کیسے بھول جاؤں
وہ مُجھ سے ڈھیر باتیں کر گیا تھا
پرندہ پھر نہیں پلٹا ؛ جو چھت سے
اُٹھانے اپنا ٹوٹا پر گیا تھا
اُسے دیکھا تھا کل گھر سے نکلتے
مرا کل آج سے بہتر گیا تھا
